They give a nutritionist or producer more flexibility when working with mills or farms. Determine which inclusion of ingredients and feeding rate will work best for each feeding situation. These mixes include trace minerals from bio-available inorganic sources, stabilized vitamin sources. Fed at different inclusion rates, selecting the best product for each situation and where it is to be mixed allows for at-mill or on-farm mixing, plus use of other additives such as a buffer, salt and/or yeast, allowing for a completely customized feeding program.
Research has shown that a combination of buffers is superior in total buffering capacity. This is due to the fact that buffering is required throughout the digestive system. Sodium bicarbonate is a fast-acting buffer, active primarily in the rumen. Magnesium oxide is slower acting and carries on much of its activity in the intestinal tract and systemically. Renaissance offers a line of three combination buffers. Select the one that meets your herd’s needs.
This is a buffering agent formulated to aid digestion and combat acidosis in rations based on corn silage, grass silage or small grain silage. Feeding rate depends on the fiber and moisture content of the ration.
Here is buffering agent formulated to aid digestion, combat acidosis and enhance rumen function. ALKA YEAST contains the full recommended feeding rate of Amax® Yeast Culture. Research has confirmed that feeding this yeast culture can helps to increase dry matter intake and improve body condition score, milk production, energy utilization and production efficiency. Feeding rate depends on the fiber and moisture content of the ration.
DAIRY RUMEN BUFFER
This is a buffering agent that contains sodium sesquicarbonate, which is formulated to aid digestion and combat acidosis. The amount of Dairy Rumen Buffer fed may vary as the levels of forage and concentrate in the ration change.
SODIUM BICARBONATE (BICARB) is a source of sodium and an excellent rumen buffering compound. It modifies gastrointestinal (GI) tract and can help in maintaining normal milk butterfat %. This product is added to feed mixes or fed free-choice.

When pathogens present a challenge, the animal’s natural resistance often finds a way to defend itself. In the past, numerous medications have been used to aid this process, which are either not permitted or have limited use on farms. Now, there are numerous supplements that may help to bind pathogens in the gut or offer some other mode of action, thereby enhancing the animal’s immunity.
The FDA has not approved/permitted any products for lowering effects of mycotoxins. Though some apparent benefits are seen in the field and in research trials some times, other times there is no effect.
Manufactured from alluminosilicate, there has been extensive research on this product for many years. It appears to be highly effective on aflatoxin and may be effective at lowering some of the other toxins below threshold levels in a well managed dairy.
This supplement is comprised of mannan oligosaccharides, which are derived from the cell walls of yeast. At the intestinal level it acts as a ‘decoy’, attracting pathogens to attach to the mannose sugars on its surface rather than those on the villi surface of the intestine. Once pathogens are immobilized they are unable to replicate and are excreted. This helps maintain healthy intestinal villi, which will efficiently absorb nutrients and improve both the health and performance of the animal. This is beneficial for both calves and lactating cows. It is available in an 11 lb pail or 55 lb bag.
INTEGRAL is a formulation of complex carbohydrates extracted from the cell wall of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast. Extensive research has been done on this product, and published in many peer reviewed articles showing efficacy and results. It has been show to provide more room for other ingredients by lowering the feeding rate.
This additive is natural miocene diatomaceous clay consisting of diatomite (20-30%) and montmorillonite (70-80%). It is further processed using an exclusive wood burning method to enhance its active properties. This product does not bind vitamins and minerals, and has an affinity for binding the mycotoxins Zearalenone, T2, and Vomitoxin. GeoBond is a diatomaceous earth and is not a bentonite clay product.
OMNIGEN AF® – OMNIGEN® GREEN – OMNIGEN WYC®
Omnigen® products are uniquely formulated to help promote the immune system of a dairy cow against bacterial and viral pathogens, while reducing a wide range of diseases associated with these pathogens. These may be fed to calves or lactating animals.
RUM-A-FRESH® - RUM-A-FRESH PLUSTM
These are formulated as flavoring agents for ruminant feeds, containing essential oils and herbs that may help to inhibit the growth of mold and fungi in feedstuffs. They can enhance feed intakes, while helping to improve the palatability of feed. RUM-A-FRESH can also be beneficial during times of stress and heat.
RUM-A-FRESH PLUS contains additional proprietary ingredients that are very soluble in the rumen and quickly utilized by rumen microbes. This product may significantly improve fiber digestibility and VFA production.

Here is a specially formulated, proprietary product that provides a blend of yeast culture and other ingredients specifically designed to help improve rumen function, metabolism, cow health, feed intakes and digestibility, while preparing cows for the rigors of calving and early lactation. It should be fed to dairy cows in transition 3 weeks (211-days) before and until 3 weeks (21-days) after calving.
RENSWEET supplies both simple and complex sugars for optimum feed digestibility and utilization. Sugars are important to a balanced ration and impact microbial activity in the rumen, which can increase nutrient use, improve digestibility and encourage increased feed intake. An increase in microbial protein from available sugars can potentially reduce ration protein costs. Inclusion rates will vary, depending on the desired level of sugars in the ration.
BC DAIRY DRENCHTM
This is a unique, proprietary powdered dairy drench that is formulated for fresh cows and cows that are off feed. It contains calcium, glucose precursors and electrolytes to help get a sick or fresh cow going. Additional ingredients are included to help improve rumen function. GUT SQUADTM – GUT SQUADTM ORGANIC (Also see REN-BOOST PRODUCTS)
GUT SQUAD and GUT SQUAD ORGANIC are formulated as direct fed microbial (DFM) using special yeasts and lactobacillus ingredients to promote a healthy digestive system in ruminants. Furthermore, it is designed to encourage an increase in rumen microflora, while protecting the lower GI tract against pathogens such as Salmonella, E. coli, and mycotoxins that can be found in forages and feeds. This is a proprietary product and may be purchased in either a bag or as capsules. The “organic” product is approved for use on organically-certified farms.
A specially-formulated proprietary product, FIBER-FORCE provides the ultimate combination of fiber digesting enzymes, minerals and probiotics to help stimulate the growth and reproduction of rumen fungi and bacteria. This causes faster and more complete fiber fermentation. The benefits of improved fiber digestion include reduced “heat of fermentation”, lowering body temperature (especially important in hot weather), and an increase in milk production and butterfat percent (%). This product is especially helpful when forages are changing and in order to get maximum value out of forages.
REN-REPRO has been formulated to help improve reproductive performance. It is a blend of critically-important nutrients that research has shown to be necessary for reproduction. The product should be fed to lactating cows from pre-fresh until the cow becomes pregnant.
When you feed one of your cows with our scientifically-formulated Renaissance Ren-Boost capsules, you are helping to ensure she is getting what she really needs, especially during her pre- and post-fresh transition period. Often that extra boost is necessary for improved reproductive performance, especially during the rigors of calving and early lactation. Her need may be most evident immediately following calving, when her maintenance and production requirements may exceed what she is actually able to eat. This is a critical time to help her meet those pertinent nutritional demands and give her the boost she needs. These products (capsules) are designed to be fed with a bolus gun or similar equipment. Exercise care when administering and following dosing directions carefully.
GUT SQUAD is formulated as direct fed microbial (DFM) using special yeasts and lactobacillus ingredients to promote a healthy digestive system in ruminants. Furthermore, it is designed to encourage an increase in rumen microflora, while protecting the lower GI tract against pathogens such as Salmonella, E. coli, and mycotoxins that can be found in forages and feeds. This is a proprietary product and may be purchased in either a bag (see LACTATING DAIRY COW PRODUCTS TO OPTIMIZE PERFORMANCE) or as capsules. This product is also available for calves, using a lower supplement level due to size and age.
This is a proprietary formulation using encapsulated B-complex vitamins, including choline and niacin, along with other B-vitamins. It is designed to help fresh cows contend with health risks associated with fatty liver. The ingredients used for this product have been shown to improve reproductive performance, especially during periods of heat stress. Many dairy herds have observed benefits when feeding Super B’s to hard breeders and flush cows. This product is available only in capsule form.
KANNON BALLS is a potent macromineral supplement intended to help reduce metabolic disorders associated with potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus deficiencies during the critical period shortly after calving. During the early post-partum period or at times of heat stress, a high producing cow’s dry matter intake may be inadequate to provide her with the required amount of macrominerals to keep her body healthy. This product is a “helping hand” to bridge the gap until her dry matter intake is sufficient to meet her body’s demands. This is available only in capsule form.
The product is available in either bag or capsule form.
CMP capsules are a source of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus intended to be fed to pre-fresh cows to reduce the risk of milk fever. The transition period is critical for a dairy cow and it is important that her demand for these macrominerals be met. For best results, the product should be administered 3-days pre-fresh and up to 3-days post-fresh.
