It is the time of year when we start thinking about the impact of heat and humidity on dairy cows and indeed all livestock. This is nothing new... it comes around each year with notable regularity. The "dog days" of summer can plague any dairy producer's productivity and profitability, with the impact of heat stress lasting well into the fall. The recommendations are always much the same - but it never hurts to be reminded of feed, nutrition and management strategies that help to address these situations.
